2. Purpose & nature of service

Praywe is an experimental service for scientific research into AI-assisted well-being. It is provided as-is, free of charge, and we accept no liability for any outcomes arising from its use. The service is not a substitute for professional spiritual guidance, counselling, or medical care.

3. Data we collect and legal basis for processing

We process the following personal data, on the following legal bases under GDPR Article 6 and, where applicable, Article 9:

  • Email address โ€” collected at registration; processed to maintain your account and authenticate you (legal basis: performance of a contract, Article 6(1)(b)).
  • Optional first name โ€” used solely to personalise generated prayers (legal basis: your consent, Article 6(1)(a)).
  • Prayer form input and generated prayer text โ€” including any content that may reflect religious or philosophical beliefs, which constitutes special-category data under Article 9 GDPR; processed to generate and store your prayers (legal basis: your explicit consent, Article 9(2)(a)).
  • Generated audio files โ€” stored on our or third-party servers for playback and download (legal basis: your consent, Article 6(1)(a)).
  • Usage metadata (timestamps, token counts, AI model used) โ€” retained for service monitoring and research (legal basis: legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f)).
  • Session cookie โ€” a session identifier cookie is stored in your browser to maintain your session or guest state. No tracking or advertising cookies are used (legal basis: legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f)).
  • Consent timestamp and IP address hash โ€” retained as evidence of consent (legal basis: legal obligation / legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(c)/(f)).
  • Service communications โ€” we may contact registered users by email to request feedback about the service or for other service-related matters (legal basis: legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f)).

4. Special-category data (religious and philosophical beliefs)

Prayer content you submit may reveal religious or philosophical beliefs, which are special-category data under Article 9 of the GDPR. By submitting prayers through this service, you give your explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a)) to the processing of such content for the purposes described in this policy. You may withdraw this consent at any time by deleting your account; see Section 11.

5. What you must NOT include

Do not enter the following into prayer forms:

  • Full names, addresses, phone numbers, or other directly identifying information about yourself or others
  • Sensitive health or medical data (diagnoses, treatments, medications)
  • Financial information
  • Information about third parties without their consent

6. Third-party AI providers (international transfers)

Your prayer inputs and generated text are sent to third-party AI model providers located in the United States, which may include Google (Gemini), OpenAI, Anthropic, and xAI. These transfers are made on the basis of your consent. We have no control over how these providers process data on their end; please review their respective privacy policies. By using Praywe, you consent to this international transfer of your data.

7. Research and service development use

After anonymisation โ€” removal of all personally identifying information โ€” your data (e.g. how often the service is used, what services are used, how long are the prayers etc.) may be used for machine analysis and scientific research into AI-assisted well-being, pursuant to Article 9(2)(j) GDPR. No individual user will be identifiable in any research output. By using Praywe, you consent to this anonymised research use of your data.

8. Data retention

Your account and all associated data are automatically deleted after 360 days of inactivity. You may delete your account at any time from your profile page. Guest prayer data and associated audio files are automatically deleted after 24 hours.

9. Usage limits

Current limits (subject to change at any time without notice):

  • New prayers per day โ€” Guests: 1, Registered users: 5
  • Prayer replays per day โ€” Guests: 10, Registered users: 30

10. Automated decision-making

We do not make any automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you. AI models are used solely to generate prayer text; no automated profiling in the GDPR sense takes place.

11. Your rights under GDPR

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or export your personal data, to object to its processing, and to withdraw your consent at any time.

You can remove all your data at any time by using the "Delete account" option in your profile. For any other request, email us at info26(at)praywe.org and we will do our best to help within 30 days.

12. Right to lodge a complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The Estonian supervisory authority is the Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon), Tatari 39, 10134 Tallinn โ€” www.aki.ee. You may also lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority of your country of residence within the EU.

13. Terms of use

  • You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use this service.
  • You may use Praywe solely for personal, non-commercial purposes.
  • You may not attempt to circumvent rate limits, reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the service in any way.
  • You may not use the service to generate content that is harmful, offensive, defamatory, or illegal.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to any account at any time, without notice or reason.
  • We reserve the right to modify, limit, or discontinue any part of the service at any time without prior notice.
  • Prayers stored on the platform are intended for short-term use only and may be deleted by administrators at any time without prior notice. If you wish to keep a permanent copy of your prayers, you should download them using the text and audio file download options available on the prayer player page.
  • These terms and conditions may be changed at any time without prior notice. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the current terms.

14. Intellectual property

Prayer texts and audio generated by the service are produced by AI models and are provided for your personal use only. We make no claim of copyright ownership over generated content, nor do we grant any commercial licence. You may not republish, resell, or redistribute generated content.

15. Disclaimer of warranties & limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Estonia (EU). Any disputes arising out of or relating to these terms or the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Estonia.
